Privacy policy
Effective 25 October 2026
Arctic Proxy doesn't collect, store or share personal data. There are no accounts, analytics or advertising, and we don't operate any servers, so nothing you do in the app reaches us. This policy covers the Arctic Proxy apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and this website.
On your device
The proxy servers you add and your settings are stored only on your device. Passwords are stored in the Keychain. The optional Activity log is kept in memory only and is cleared when you disconnect. Data usage is counted on your device as totals for today and this month, without a list of sites. On iPhone and iPad, the camera is used only to read a QR code while you scan one.
iCloud backup
Optional and off by default. If you turn it on, your servers and settings are copied to your own iCloud account so you can restore them on a new device, and your passwords too if you choose “Include passwords” (stored in iCloud Keychain, end-to-end encrypted by Apple). This is Apple's service under your account; we can't see it. Turning it off deletes the copy.
Your proxy
When you connect, your device's traffic is sent to the proxy server you configured, which is operated by you or your provider, not by us. Their privacy practices apply to that traffic.
Server tests
When you test a server, the app sends two small requests through that proxy: one to Google
(generate_204) to measure latency and one to Cloudflare
(cdn-cgi/trace) to show the country of the proxy's IP address. Because they go
through your proxy, these services see the proxy's address, not yours.
Connection test
Only when you open it, the app loads connectivity-check pages from Google, Cloudflare, Apple and Mozilla, and Cloudflare's trace page to show your exit IP address. When you're connected these go through your proxy; when you're not, they're sent from your own connection.
DNS
Sites that use the proxy are looked up by your proxy. If your routing rules send some sites directly, the app looks up those sites with Cloudflare's encrypted DNS (1.1.1.1), as your device would otherwise do with your network's DNS.
Countries in routing
If you add a country to your routing lists, the app checks where a site's server is the first time you open the site: it looks up the site's name with Cloudflare's encrypted DNS (1.1.1.1) and finds the country in a table that's part of the app (data by DB-IP). With “Everything except” that lookup goes through your proxy; with “Only sites I choose” it's sent from your own connection. Nothing about it is sent to us or to DB-IP.
This website
arcticproxy.com uses no cookies, analytics or third-party content; its fonts and images are served from the site itself. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We don't turn on Cloudflare's visitor analytics, and we don't keep logs of visits.
No data, nothing to share
We never sell, use or disclose any data, because we don't receive any.
